Betfair Ambassador Joseph O’Brien has five runners across three races this Saturday at Limerick. Erlking looks to be the one to watch on the day.
“While he’ll have to prove his stamina over the seven-furlong trip here, I think he’ll be fine over it and should run very well again.”
Three to show up
Erlking ran really well to finish a neck second in a maiden at Listowel a fortnight ago. He was a little bit unlucky there, as he was taken on for the lead all the way and just got nabbed by one that tracked them. I’d be hopeful he can come forward again from that and while he’ll have to prove his stamina over the seven-furlong trip here, I think he’ll be fine over it and should run very well again.
Calidus Mirabilis and Crossfirehurricane are both grand colts that have been pleasing me in their work. As always, they can be expected to need the experience and we’ll be looking for them to show some promise with a view to the future.
Syrena with solid chance
Syrena ran a great race from a terrible draw to just be touched off by a short-head at Leopardstown last week. She seems to be a filly that might be best delivered late and she might just have got there a little bit too soon that day. The draw hasn’t been as kind as it could have been again, but based on her Leopardstown run she must have a solid chance off a 2lb higher mark.
Munaajaat to build a foundation
Munaajaat came to us earlier this season and she has settled in well to the routine here. She shaped with subtle promise on her first start for us at Cork and the hope would be that she can build on that here.
