Irish side Finn Harps are leaking goals left, right and centre, and Kev suspects that will continue tonight.
“Finn Harps have the worst defence in the division, and their last seven matches have featured at least three goals.”
Porous strugglers to leak goals again
Friday 14 June, 19:45
I’m hoping to have more fun in Mallorca on holiday next month than we hadMallorca did their part in our BTTS wager, but Albacete were denied a couple of clear penalties on a frustrating evening, and slipped to a 2-0 defeat.
We head to the Emerald Isle now, because the Republic of Ireland’s Premier Division season is still rattling along, and there’s an intriguing clash this evening between St. Patrick’s Athletic and rock-bottom Finn Harps.
Finn Harps have been out of their depth all campaign (they were promoted via the playoffs last season), and have collected a meagre ten points from their 21 games. They have leaked a league-high 47 goals, and they have lost their last five games in league and cup. On the road, they haven’t won a single encounter.
St Patrick’s Athletic haven’t won the league since 2013, and they are once again well off the title pace. They are the model of inconsistency, with their 21 games so far featuring seven wins, seven draws and seven defeats. They have won just one of their last eight matches.
Finn Harps’ awful defending leads me to believe there’ll be goals tonight. Their last seven matches in league and cup have featured at least three goals, and they have conceded 11 times across their last three road matches. St Pat’s have a modest attacking record, but they put a couple of goals past Finn Harps in a 2-0 away win in April, and I think they’ll make plenty of chances here.
