CSA vs Flamengo
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 13 June 2019
Kick-off: 02:30 CET
Something over 80 minutes into the game last weekend, CSA looked set to beat Botafogo, being 1-0 up since the 62nd minute. Two goals conceded late, left them empty-handed, in disbelief, and on six points from eight matches in the championship, second-to-last in the table. To make matters worse, they host Flamengo without key players; centre-back Luciano Castán and defensive midfielder Naldo are both suspended, while midfielder Matheus Sávio “belongs” to Flamengo, he plays at CSA on loan, and there is a clause in the contract between the two clubs that prohibits him from being involved in the games between the two teams. Marcelo Cabo is expected to have Jordi, Apodi, Gerson, Leandro Souza, Carlinhos, Dawhan, Nilton, Didira, Jonatan Gómez, Maranhão and Cassiano in the starting lineup.
Jorge Jesus, Flamengo’s new coach (he will take over right after this match, and will make his debut on the bench in the first game after the Copa América break), watched their game against Fluminense last weekend, and according to reports there were several things he did not like. Fla looked… boring, not producing enough scoring chances, they were very slow going forward and passing the ball around, and generally did little to deserve something more than one point. They drew 0-0, and are now on 14 points from eight matches in the championship, fifth in the table. Diego, their number 10, got injured, and the day before the game in Maceió it was unclear if he could play. His chances of traveling to the Northeast were very slim. Flamengo disappointed offensively last weekend, but at least they kept their third clean sheet in a row.

CSA vs Flamengo: Prediction
CSA’s 1-2 defeat to Botafogo was their first one at home this season in the Serie A, in four matches. One defeat, conceding in added time, generally they have looked very competitive at home, but at the end of the day, Flamengo are a much better team, and I expect them to find the way to win even by just… half a goal.
CSA vs Flamengo: Betting Tips
