Corinthians vs Flamengo
Competition: Copa do Brasil
Date: 16 May 2019
Kick-off: 02:30 CET
Neutrals in Brazil, at least the Media people, seem to consider Flamengo big favorites in this tie. Talking to reporters, Corinthians players looked half annoyed and half… extra-motivated, seeing “specialists” consider them almost doomed. O Timão drew with Gremio at home last weekend, 0-0, playing with several reserves. Before that, they had three wins in a row at home, in three different competitions. In their last four matches as hosts, they have conceded just one goal, which sort of reminds people of Fábio Carille’s team that won the Série A title two seasons ago. Corinthians’ coach cannot count on midfielder Matheus Jesus, because he has already played for Oeste in Copa do Brasil this season, so he is ineligible. Pedrinho missed the game against Gremio because he got injured during warm-up(!), and the day before this game he was considered doubtful.
Flamengo took care of business rather easily last weekend, when they hosted Chapecoense (in front of more than 61,000 fans, the biggest crowd thus far in the Série A season), but their coach, Abel Braga, looked super… down to earth after the final whistle, telling reporters “we did not have a good game”. Fla won 2-1, conceding that goal super late, having opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and taken a two-goal advantage early in the second half. In other words, they were… comfortable, they did not really get threatened, but still, Abel felt they should have done much better. On another note, the Rio de Janeiro giants look determined to announce at least one big signing these next weeks; there are rumors about Rafinha, who is leaving Bayern Munich, as well as Filipe Luis, who may not continue at Atlético Madrid.

Three wins for Corinthians, one for Flamengo, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Sao Paulo.
Corinthians vs Flamengo: Prediction
Flamengo are given a small advantage to win the game, but I’m with Corinthians to earn at least a draw.
Corinthians vs Flamengo: Betting Tips
“Under 1.5”, at 2.40, is my first tip, expecting, deep down, a goalless draw. Corinthians’ double chance pays just under 1.50, but 2.08 if combined with “under 2.5 goals”.Do you want daily and profitable Betting Tips?
