Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his only selection won. Nick hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with a couple of winners from Newbury…
Baadirr to boss rivals
Baadirr should make his presence felt in this novice stakes.
He was a big drifter on debut, but ran with promise when only beaten five lengths behind Light Angel over this course last month. Despite missing the break, he put in some good work in the closing stages and finished the race with good energy. I think he is open to significant improvement and is attractively priced at [4.0] on the exchange.
Debutant Mottrib could be the danger. The nicely bred son of Invincible Spirit was an expensive yearling purchase, and has enough speed in his pedigree to be competitive at first asking. At present he is trading at [5.3] on the exchange.
Star to shine
Star Terms is my idea of the winner of this intriguing contest.
This Sea The Stars filly was not disgraced when finishing down the field behind Hermosa in the 1,000 Gns at HQ last month. She began to tire when the pace lifted a furlong from home, but was not beaten all that far. She was a tad disappointing in her latest start over this course, but I am prepared to forgive her as the race may have come too soon after the Guineas. She has some smart two-year-old form in the book, and hopefully she can bounce back. At present she is trading at [5.3] on the exchange which is more than fair.
Terebellum is the short priced favourite at [1.96] on the exchange. She was most impressive when winning a Goodwood maiden last month, but this is a lot tougher. I can afford to let her win at this price.
